• In August of 2023 I got to visit my mom’s hometown of Sulmona in Italy. It was my first time visiting and her first time back in 24 years.

• Along with her aunt, Zia Domenica, we got to see her old house and surrounding farm.

• On our last night in Sulmona, we FaceTimed Nonna so she could see her old house again. She never went back to Italy after immigrating in 1973.
